In No. 7/36, Kaspar Laurenz condenses the landscape of the Wilder Kaiser into an almost monochromatic field of color. Deep moss-green tones dominate the painting, while the last rays of sunlight bathe the peaks in a restrained yellow. The green band of color along the lower edge of the composition reappears as an independent compositional element, giving the landscape an increasingly reduced formal structure.
