The Großvenediger
from the series Autumn Impressions
2025
Oil on canvas
30 x 30 cm
CR 2-4
Private collection, Austria
The painting was created in the autumn of 2025 for Kaspar Laurenz’s first solo exhibition, Autumn Impressions, in Kitzbühel. It depicts the Großvenediger, with its long glacial ridge illuminated by the last light of the evening.
The mountain in the foreground was inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s woodblock print Red Fuji, creating a dialogue between the Alpine landscape and the visual language of Japanese printmaking. The work was very well received during the exhibition and was donated to the gallery in recognition of the opportunity to present the exhibition.
