A journey to the south
In the autumn of 2026, Kaspar Laurenz traveled to southern Italy for several months. In Naples, he resumed his medical studies, completing part of his clinical training at the Luigi Vanvitelli University Hospital.
At the same time, the city became a new starting point for his artistic work. The southern light, the proximity to the sea, and the landscape of Campania joined the familiar motifs of the Alps, opening a new chapter in his oeuvre.
During his time in Italy, Kaspar Laurenz repeatedly visited sites of ancient culture. These included Pompeii and Herculaneum, the archaeological museums of Naples, Rome, and Arezzo with its frescoes by Piero della Francesca.
